Job Description:

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Group FP&A function and support Swissport’s capital allocation, investment approval, and contract financial evaluation processes. The role will focus on preparing analyses, maintaining models and documentation, and supporting the planning and governance cycle supporting the planning and governance cycle under the guidance of the Lead FP&A Analyst, with periodic exposure to the Head of Group FP&A. The position provides strong development opportunities through exposure to investment cases, contract evaluations and the Group Business Plan, with increasing responsibility as capability grows.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the enforcement of the Group’s capital allocation and financial valuation principles by contributing to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, tools, and KPIs (financial and strategic).
  • Ensure consistency and standardization in investment evaluations across the Group to enable informed management decisions.
  • Assist in the financial and strategic assessment of new and existing customer contracts to help maintain and improve the Group’s competitive position and profitability.
  • Ensure Investment Committee meetings are appropriately documented and minuted.
  • Deliver training and hands-on support to country and cluster teams on business case preparation, the Swissport contract evaluation framework, and cost-benefit analyses, based on Group standards and materials.
  • Support the post-investment review process for approved capital allocation decisions and track the accuracy of forecasts to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Assist in developing frameworks and tools to support Group and Cluster Commercial teams in the financial evaluation of customer opportunities and potential contracts.
  • Support Group Commercial on key global initiatives, including providing analysis for global incentive schemes, building and reviewing financial models for major tenders, performing customer profitability analyses, and assisting on other commercial projects.
  • Act as project coordinator for the Group-wide five-year Business Plan, supporting the annual planning process and assisting in the preparation of presentations for shareholders, the Board, and Group management.
  • Work proactively with country and cluster management teams, acting as a reliable business partner to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standardized and accurate financial models.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and modelling for key stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team and Head of FP&A.
  • Assist in the administration, maintenance, and approval process within the RFA portal, ensuring compliance with Group governance standards.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Strong foundation in financial analysis, modelling, accounting and valuation, with the ability to work with structured templates, documented assumptions, and clear audit trails.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, transaction services/valuation (e.g., Big 4), audit, management consulting, or another analytical finance role in a complex environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills (must-have) and strong PowerPoint capability; able to build, maintain, and improve models with disciplined structure, checks, and version control (Word proficiency expected).
  • High attention to detail and analytical judgement: able to interpret outputs, identify drivers, test reasonableness, and summarise key messages clearly for stakeholders.
  • Strong execution and reliability: able to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple parallel requests, and maintain high-quality documentation in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated working style with good judgement on prioritisation, escalation, and practical problem-solving; comfortable taking ownership of deliverables under guidance.
  • Exposure to governance processes is an advantage, including Investment Committee documentation/minutes, approval workflows (e.g., portals), and post-investment reviews / benefits tracking.
  • Experience preparing decision materials for senior stakeholders (e.g., governance packs, business case summaries, Board/ELT-ready slides) is an advantage.
  • Collaborative and fast-learning, comfortable working across geographies and functions (Finance, Commercial, Operations), with a “special projects” orientation when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English; able to communicate with clarity and concision.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. CFA/ACCA/CPA (or progress toward) is a plus.
