About the role:
Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Analytics Flight Operations team as a Senior Data Science Analyst to be based in Doha, Qatar.
As a Senior Data Science Analyst, you will be responsible for the use of advanced analytical techniques, machine learning and operational research to improve Network and Flight Operations operational efficiency, on-time performance, product integrity, optimized scheduling, and other operational areas critical to the airline’s profitability.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
- Develop and maintain relationships with Flight Operations division, Network Operations stakeholders and peers to promote, engage and develop machine learning and optimization models within functional areas.
- Responsible for delivering multiple, highly complex and advanced analyses in a timely, efficient manner in collaboration with Flight Operations’ teams to understand contextual problems and deliver innovative solutions that address business needs.
- Use a combined knowledge of statistics, machine learning and optimization techniques to enhance network and flight operations data and analytics capabilities.
- Lead data analysis activities using available sources to identify trends and patterns, deliver deeper operational insights to make predictions and generate data-driven recommendations.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models and optimization models.
- Design, adapt and continually improve the data science, operations research and optimization program by championing new ideas and processes to increase efficiency and quality.

QualificationsAbout you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and minimum 3 years’ experience in Data Science role.
- Experience in applying statistics, advanced analytical methods, and operations research to solve business problems.
- Good understanding of machine learning models and algorithms.
- Highly developed planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Use programming skills (e.g. SQL, SAS, Python, R) during analysis, model design and deployment.
- Strong analytical, data analysis, data visualization and presentation skills.
- Experience in optimization software tools such as Cplex, Gurobi, SAS/OR, Google OR-Tools.
- Experience with top-tier BI tools such as Qlik, Power BI, Tableau.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts.
