What you can expect as a Quality Assurance Auditor at West Star:
The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible to conduct independent audits of the Enterprise AOG, Fleet and Retail Business Units to assess compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to include Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other regulatory agencies’ expectations.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
sibilities and Duties:
Perform Safety Assurance Auditor duties for regulatory and compliance auditing across the Enterprise. This includes preparation/planning and travel to/from the facility for the audits as required.
Develop and conduct internal annual evaluation plans for multiple WSA facilities.
Assess compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to include Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other regulatory agencies’ expectations.
Audit, evaluate and document results of operational processes and systems.
Monitor industry sites for potential changes to regulations, technology, and best practices, and develop new checklists or update existing checklists when necessary.
Support the West Star Aviation Safety 24/7 development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Support the Quality Control Department personnel in carrying out activities associated with onsite audits for FAA, Foreign Authorities, or Part 135 Operators. Includes providing any requested documentation prior to such onsite audits.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
What you’ll need to bring with you:
Skills and Qualifications:
- Able to communicate in writing and verbally in a clear and understandable manner with co-workers, customers and regulators.
- Understand, read, and write English.
- Education or aviation operations and/or safety management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience, preferably in aviation safety, maintenance, and/or operations to include formal documented auditor training, OJT job files for auditing experience, or previous job experience working in a Part 145 Repair Station.
- Formal academic training and/or practical work experience in aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS), known as Safety 24/7.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass airport security background check.
