What You Will Do:
As Principal EH&S Specialist, you’ll support the Pratt & Whitney EH&S team’s ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the Clayville, NY site. This complex manufacturing site offers an opportunity to work with manufacturing and support teams to foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.
Recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous workplace conditions; take proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influencing safe behaviors
Working with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirements
Executing initiatives, programs, reports and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines to achieve and maintain compliance.
Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Investigating, analyzing and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place
Prepares and manages documentation relating to environmental, health & safety policies in preparation for audit.
Provides proper documentation in preparation for permits and liaising with governmental bodies.
Oversees programs related to waste, water, air management, hazardous waste and environmental remediation.
Interacting with employees and promoting relationships, learning the tasks employees perform and serving as a known and respected resource to the site employees; work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.
Develops and advises employee workplace programs related to emergency response, workers compensation, ergonomics and industrial hygiene.
Maintains EH&S Management System Conformance; achieves and maintains consistency of EH&S record keeping and documentation with organizational and regulatory policy; collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of EH&S program implementation.
Limited travel for participation in Company seminars, EHS audits and training opportunities.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelors degree and 5 or more years experience in an EH&S environment OR a Masters degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Experience working with OSHA, Federal and State environmental regulations in an aerospace manufacturing facility.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field of study
Experience managing EHS issues in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment
Experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site
Demonstrated experience organizing and managing multiple projects and programs in a rapidly fluctuating environment
Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
