An excellent opportunity exists within the Land & Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) Estimating organization for an entry-level analyst. This position is within a dynamic organization focused on creating winning cost proposals to help achieve business goals.
In this estimating organization, the employee will be responsible for the preparation of various types of proposals for development, production and competitive contracts including modifications to existing contracts. In addition, the estimating organization supports proposal approval reviews, government audits and negotiations with the customer. The position offers visibility to, and requires extensive contact with all functional team members, subcontractors, customers, and senior management.
What You Will Do
- Perform pricing and cost proposal development in accordance with customer requirements and current government regulations, laws and company policies.
- Provide pricing support for all phases of the proposal process from pre-RFP activities through fact-finding, government audits, negotiations and award.
- Assess RFP requirements – translating them into a fully compliant cost proposal. This includes tasks such as: developing pricing strategies, constructing flexible cost/pricing Excel models, and meeting schedule and compliance requirements to submit compelling and winning cost volumes.
- Develop detailed bidding guidelines which are used to initiate proposals
- Work with functions from across the company to develop the labor, material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts
- Provide support for the development of Basis of Estimates to include validating and analyzing actuals, ensuring consistency within task descriptions, and confirming estimating approach is sound
- Utilize company estimating and pricing programs and tools
- Prepare and present limited complexity charts for program/company leadership review of proposal information
- Ability and willingness to gain special access clearance to work activities as appropriate.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), (TINA) and/or other government procurement regulations as they pertain to bid/cost proposals.
- Possess good investigative/analytical abilities
- Strong organization skills
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines in a schedule driven environment
- Effective planning and scheduling skills that lead to the completion of proposal efforts in accordance with customer and company requirements
- Effective communication skills – including verbal, written and presentation skills
- The ability to follow and apply internal and external regulations to the development of company proposals
- Experience in ProPricer pricing software is desired but not required
- Active Secret Clearance is a plus, but not required
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with senior levels of management and customer organizations
- Ability to work both independently and as an integral team member working closely with various functions including business development, program management, finance and contracts.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
