Functional Test Engineer

Our client are responsible for developing and supporting applications making it easy to measure, understand and improve the Through Life Engineering Management of aircraft and provide information and insight to the customers to enable efficient and effective maintenance operations and fleet management.
The Functional test Specialist is responsible for:
• Performing application and system testing to ensure system requirements are met
• Enabling continuous integration through process automation
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Specialist
• Expert knowledge of integration testing and test automation tools (eg. Selenium)
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, processes and specifications
• Experienced in utilising APIs, including both REST and GraphQL.
• Ability to distil a requirement, and develop appropriate test cases to deliver intuitive and engaging
interfaces.
• Proficient use of version control systems and branching strategies.
• Support the adoption of CI / CD practices.
• Understanding of networks, systems and security requirements.
Generic
• Produce the necessary documentation for the software to enable the support teams to operate effectively.
• Actively contribute to team meetings (daily stand-ups, project reviews and retrospectives), demonstrating empathy and understanding and promoting knowledge sharing amongst the team
• Experience in delivering complex software development projects on time and to budget
• Methodical, structured and organised approach to managing complex issues
• Provide time estimates to complete a task in support of cost analysis / bid preparations
