Description:As the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Systems Integration & Engineering (SI&E) in the Engineering & Technology major functional organization (MFO) of the Space business area (BA) of Lockheed Martin (LM), you will be part of a new team charged with:
• Driving mission-focused, systems-integrating, end-to-end solutions through team-building collaboration across Space, LM, and beyond.
• Empowering our systems engineering workforce with people-fulfilling leadership, development, challenges, and opportunities.

You will provide executive administrative assistance to the SI&E VP and directors as they provide SI&E support to the lines of business (LoBs), strategy & business development (S&BD), Ignite, and Product Centers of Space, as well as the other LM BAs and corporate. In this capacity you will represent SI&E organization, the VP, and directors to a wide range of individuals including technologists, engineers, strategists, managers, and senior executives/flag officers from across LM, government, and industry. This requires quickly establishing and maintaining excellent rapport and working relationships with these individuals and their support staff. It requires the exercise of exceptional tact in engaging with others, and, in the handling of potentially sensitive information. It also requires knowledge of a broad range of organizational, policy, protocol, security, facility, and logistics information and tools associated with this range of individuals and their organizations. It involves working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, and quickly adjusting to changing demands of the SI&E organization, VP, and team.
This preferred location of this position is Herndon, VA. Candidates may be considered who are not located in Herndon but are located at an LM facility in the eastern time zone provided that: a) they can support as required in-person from Herndon, VA, b) they can support as required from an LM facility with SCI and SAP systems.
Summary of key duties for this position:
• Perform administrative duties for the VP/SI&E, SI&E directors, and key leaders of the team. This includes maintaining calendars, arranging and hosting meetings (classified and unclassified), making travel arrangements (domestic and international), and completing travel claims.
• Manage complex calendar scheduling to ensure efficient and optimal use of VP/SI&E and staff time, in particular, de-conflicting their schedules and helping to prioritize meetings based on mission and business needs.
• Ensure the VP/SI&E is prepared for daily and weekly agendas by preparing meeting materials in collaboration with the staff.
• Serve as a pro-active member of the E&T executive administrator team.
• Interface and coordinate with: LoB and MFO executives and their support staff; senior executives of LM Corporate, Government Affairs (LMGA), and other LM business areas; and senior executives of customers and industry partners.
• Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
• Demonstrate initiative, discretion, and tact in managing email, telephone calls and other requests.
• Ensure all correspondence is accurate, complete, and properly handled.
• Employ software applications, websites, and shared data repositories (including the Microsoft Office Suite) to access LM systems, compose correspondence, and create spreadsheets and presentation charts.
• Assure administrative detail on all projects.
• Create and maintain files on shared drives as required.
• Update and status delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines. Maintain Outlook calendar to ensure efficiency and maximum use of leaders time.
• Determine priorities regarding non-routine situations.
• Manage credit card and place orders for small purchases, training, and conference support.
• Coordinate logistics, agenda, invitations, participation, etc. for for meetings, activities, off-sites, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside executives and customers.
• Ability to proactively collaborate and coordinate administrative support for high-level program management and customers from other lines of business needing support in the classified environment.
• Advanced skills and competency in the use of administrative applications (in particular Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Zoom).
• Advanced skills and competency in the use of the internet to perform research.
• Demonstrated ability to compose reports, correspondence, and memorandums, and, to review drafts and finished documents for appropriate grammatical usage.
• Ability to coordinate complex travel arrangements, order supplies and catering, and reconcile expense reports.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
• Flexible project coordination experience, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated desire and ability to take initiative.
• Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
• Prior experience as an Administrative Assistant at the director level (or equivalent) or above.
• Ability to proactively collaborate and coordinate administrative support virtually across LOB and BA support networks.
• DoD Secret clearance to start with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
