Job Description:

Direct the College’s comprehensive Aviation Maintenance Technology Program including management of the off-campus Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) instructional center at the Plymouth Municipal Airport, a fleet of aircraft, and supervision of an instructional team and program staff. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Ensure that the program maintains currency and compliance with FAA regulation 14-CFR-147.
  • Obtain, maintain, and manage FAA approvals /certifications and the corresponding processes.
  • Implement program development strategies.
  • Build collegial relations with the faculty and college governance structures.
  • Build academic schedules for aviation courses.
  • Work with Faculty to assess learning outcomes for students enrolled in aviation maintenance technology courses.
  • Develop articulation agreements with senior institutions and foster positive relationships with existing partners.
  • Build networks in the aviation industry and establish partnerships.
  • Manage complex financial operations and physical plant pertaining to the Aviation Maintenance Technology program.
  • Work with Faculty to administer the academic curriculum, policies, and reporting in keeping with College governance structures and FAA requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, aviation, and aviation-related field or related technology field.
  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certification.
  • Five years of supervisory experience in an aviation setting.
  • Experience working with the FAA.
  • Experience in a Part 147 AMT program, preferably at a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience with active learning in technical education.
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity in education and the aviation industry.
  • Potential to make significant contributions to curriculum development and program expansion in credit and non-credit program areas.
  • Ability to meet the challenges of a broad curriculum and a student body with diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds.
  • Eligibility for a Massachusetts Driver’s License.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, procurement practices, and internal controls for inventory management.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Master’s degree.
Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000
