Are you our new Data Analyst?

 

Norwegian is looking for a data analyst to join our Revenue Management Department. The department is a part of the commercial division and is responsible for maximizing ticket and ancillary revenue for every flight within Norwegian’s route network.

 

You will play a central role in the development of the departments data analysis and reporting processes. You have excellent experience in extracting, transforming, and loading data as well as identifying, analyzing patterns in complex data sets. The right candidate also has a proven record of creating visual models to accurately display information. You can make recommendations based on data and analysis.

 

The position involves close dialogue with internal stakeholders and collaboration with revenue managers and analysts.

We are looking for someone with excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and interpersonal skills. You need to be a structured self-starter with a strong ability to execute. You prefer data driven decision making over gut feeling.

 

The Data Analyst role reports to Director Systems & Data Analysis and is located at Fornebu.

 You are our ideal candidate if you have:

 

  • University degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, statistics, or general business studies
  • 2+ years experience in an analytical position, preferably with focus on predicative modeling
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Super user in Microsoft Excel and Power BI (or experienced with Tableau, Qlikview or similar)
  • Knowledge of and experience with data warehouses (AWS Redshift, SAP Business Objects or similar) and programming (DAX, Python, SQL, R, VBA, etc.)
  • Great teamwork skills
  • Excellent English skills. Proficiency in one of the Scandinavian languages is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills

 

 

 

 

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

  • Maintain, develop, and improve the commercial reports for the revenue department
  • Develop analytical methods, tools, and strategies to improve commercial performance
  • Use analysis of data to expose underperformance in our revenue management strategies and steering and suggest improvements
  • Report revenue performance to the rest of the revenue management department, and the commercial department when necessary
  • Follow up dialog with IT and other stakeholders
  • Acquire data from different systems and sources to provide ongoing as well as ad hoc reports and visualizations for the department
