ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Contract Specialist for a Space and defense manufacturing company. This would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in contract negotiation looking to further their career in the defense industry!
- Responsible for contract negotiation and administration on multiple programs encompassing all phases of the contract life cycle (pre-proposal through contract close out).
- Collaborate with other employees in the department, cross-functionally and with program personnel, and for establishing effective relationships with key customers.
- Assist in reviewing contracts and related documents to assess company risk and recommend mitigation approaches and ensure compliance
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA in a related field plus
- 10 or more years related experience including experience with Government and Commercial (domestic and international desirable) contracts
- A strong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), with a particular emphasis on intellectual property, government property, formation of proposals, and negotiations.
- Experienced with cost reimbursable, award fee and incentive fee contracts.
- Experience with Firm Fixed Price contracts.
- Strong communications skills, computer fluency, agile and effective negotiation skills with clear oral and written explanations.
- Experience in developing and implementing negotiation strategies.
