Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a A220 Customs Specialist to join our Finance department based in Mobile, AL

A220 Customs Specialists ensures customs compliance in all relevant U.S. legislations, with the aim of preparing or supervising the customs declarations to be filed to the respective customs administrations. The A220 Customs Specialists performs customs management by securing customs procedures, maintaining customs network, creating schemes in order to optimize the group&39;s customs duty savings, mitigating risks related to customs matters, defending customs position externally (e. g. towards customs administrations) and advising other business functions (commercial, procurement, transport & supply chain...) in respect of all customs implications.

Your challenges:
  • Perform commodity classification to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS-US) & Schedule B.

  • Create, maintain and update HTS-US & Schedule B classification justification records and database entries.

  • Create, Maintain and update Partner Government Agency (PGA) documentation (e.g. FCC and FDA forms, TSCA statements, etc.) records and database entries. Review and ensure inbound shipment documentation prepared by suppliers/vendors are in compliance with Airbus and U.S. Customs requirements. (e.g. Valuation, Country of Origin, etc.) 

  • Create, maintain and or manage reporting related to suppliers/vendors compliance with Airbus and U.S. Customs requirements and proactively align with Airbus Procurement to get corrective actions taken by suppliers/vendors.

  • Interface and assist with the Airbus customs broker in the preparation of the U.S. Customs entries and ensure timely & compliant customs activities are performed.

  • Review and assess U.S. Customs entries and related activities for accuracy and compliance with U.S. regulations.

  • Prepare and submit customs Post Entry Amendment (PEA) and Post Summary Correction (PSC) instructions to Airbus’s brokers

  • Prepare and submit U.S. customs reconciliation entries.

  • Act as operational and subject matter focal point and provide ad-hoc advice to cross-functional peers

  • Conduct internal training on Airbus and U.S. customs  import compliance requirements

  • Support the HO of Site Customs in the development and implementation of Airbus customs initiatives or projects which may require participation on a short or long term basis.

  • Other duties as assigned

Your boarding pass:
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of U.S. Customs laws and regulations

  • 5-10&43; years&39; experience in U.S. import compliance, import operations or combination thereof.

  • 5&43; years&39; experience in tariff classification

  • Ability to research and comprehend aircraft engineering and maintenance data (e.g. drawings, maintenance documentation, aerospace & material standards, etc.)

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Experience with voluntary customs initiatives such as Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Importers Self-Assessment (ISA) and Broker-Importer Trusted Trader Program

  • Experience with SAP ERP and Global Trade Management software, Integration Point application 

  • Education: Bachelor&39;s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Fluent/advanced proficiency in English

Preferred:

  • Licensed Customs Broker

  • Intermediate/conversational proficiency in French, Spanish or German language

  • Certified U.S. Import Compliance Officer (CUSICO), Certified U.S. Import Professional (CITP), Certified International Trade Manager (CITM), Certified International Trade Documentation Specialist (CITDS)
