Job Description

The Technical Documents Controller (TDC) will be responsible for obtaining, producing, and maintaining publications that are required for Air Transat Technical Operations. The TDC will also monitor revision schedules and update technical publications issued by Aircraft OEMs, Engine OEMs, and Suppliers.

  • Manage change request queue for Technical Operations publications;
  • Ensure that electronic delivery platforms are fully operational;
  • Coordinate Technical Data deliverables with manufacturers/suppliers;
  • Ensure that the latest revisions are available for all documents requiring version control;
  • Manage subscriptions and notifications with external data providers and regulatory authorities;
  • Manage internal requests for technical documents (line, base, and shop maintenance);
  • Data cleansing and document standardization initiatives.;
  • Restructure the internal Drives to better suite our current processes and aircraft fleet;
  • Update document types and categorization parameters based on the latest policies and procedures;
  • Support auditing activities and document approval processes, as needed;
  • Plan and execute periodic reviews to ensure that the latest revisions of technical publications are available.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • College degree in a relevant field (technical writing, aircraft maintenance, etc.);
  • Experience editing structured data (XML, SGML);
  • Knowledge of industry standards for structured data (DITA, S1000D, ATA);
  • Experience using aviation Maintenance information Systems (AMOS, TRAX, or equivalent);
  • Knowledge in the field of aircraft maintenance and technical operations;
  • Working knowledge of CARs and regulatory documents (AD, AMOC, CASA, etc.);
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Experience using issue tracking software (JIRA or equivalent);
  • Strong analytical and project management abilities;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Bilingualism (French/English) written and spoken.
