Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the project management and business services fields as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the ORNL in Oak Ridge, TN. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratory. Responsibilities
- Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects.
- Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or businesses in order to track the organizations progress against financial goals.
- Reports current or expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
- Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, or annual financial statements.
- Perform work with a high degree of latitude.
- Handles the most complex issues.
- Assist with high-level analysis of compliance with the DOE Accounting Handbook as well as potentially looking at newly signed prime contract with DOE to evaluate any gaps in our procedures and processes.
- May act as a lead.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; 10-15 years of experience.
- Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and manage a high-performing team.
- Experience with managing the cost accounting functions, including cost distribution processing in SAP, general ledger operations, inventory accounting, fringe benefits, and specialized DOE cost reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and SAP.
Special Requirements:
- Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
