The Controller is responsible for overseeing the consolidation, financial reporting, and audit compliance for the organization. This role ensures the accuracy of financial statements, drives process improvements, and works closely with senior management to support strategic initiatives. The Controller leads a team of accountants and ensures adherence to GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
- Ensure all financial reports meet the company’s and external auditors’ standards.
- Prepare and present financial projections to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including tax filings, audits, and other legal requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors during audits and implement recommended changes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, if applicable.
- Lead process improvement initiatives within the accounting function to drive efficiencies and automation.
- Implement new accounting systems or software as needed, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and practices, recommending updates when necessary.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Set clear goals and expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Finance, Operations, and HR, to align accounting activities with overall business objectives.
- Provide financial expertise and support for special projects and strategic initiatives.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.

Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Experience in financial reporting, consolidations, and compliance.
- Experience leading teams through ERP implementations.

AEVEX provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this position is for the listed location only.
Salary Range
$170,000—$210,000 USD
